Job Summary
Montessori Bilingual Academy of Rockledge is seeking a Spanish Immersion Educator to teach Spanish language and social skills to students at the elementary school level.

​

Job Responsibilities and Duties

• Instruct students individually and in groups using approved teaching methods and materials (Montessori and Spanish Immersion curriculum).

• Ensure all instruction and interaction with students are conducted in Spanish.

• Assist in the creation and implementation of the Spanish curriculum.

• Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among students based on the school’s discipline policy.

• Prepare the learning environment and adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying learning levels, styles, and interests.

• Conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.

• Observe, evaluate, and record students’ progress in their Spanish education on a weekly basis.

• Collaborate and communicate with parents and other educators to provide support for students.

• Collaborate with the Lead Educator to maintain classroom materials and cleanliness.

• Prepare and implement bilingual (Spanish/English) learning activities.

• Teach early language skills including emergent literacy, phonics, and vocabulary.

• Assess students’ language development and reading comprehension.

 

This position does not supervise personnel, participate in management decisions, or plan, direct, or coordinate the activities of other staff.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.

• At least one (1) year of experience as a teacher or educator in early childhood or elementary education.

 

Certification

• CPR Certification required.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

Qualified applicants must demonstrate proficiency, skill, experience, and knowledge in the following:

​

1. Fluency or native-level Spanish (spoken and written).

2. Technology skills including Gmail, word processing, and the ability to operate cell phones and applications.

3. Experience creating slideshow presentations using Google Slides and PowerPoint.

4. Microsoft Office, Google Workspace (G-Suite), and Google Sheets.
